Captain Andrew describes all the fishing gear on Y-Knot:

Grand Cayman is a true angler’s paradise, with its crystal-clear waters and abundant marine life. The island offers a wide range of fishing opportunities, including deep-sea, reef, and bonefishing.

For those seeking an adrenaline rush and the chance to battle impressive pelagic species, deep-sea fishing is a must. The warm Caribbean waters surrounding Grand Cayman are teeming with marlin, mahi-mahi, and tuna, providing ample opportunities for epic battles and thrilling catches.

Reef fishing is perfect for those who prefer a more relaxed pace. The island’s vibrant coral reefs are home to an array of fish, including snapper, grouper, and barracuda. It’s a great way to enjoy some excellent fishing without venturing too far from the shore.

Bonefishing, on the other hand, offers a unique and challenging experience. The flats and shallows of Grand Cayman provide excellent opportunities to test your skills against the elusive bonefish. It’s a favorite among fly-fishing enthusiasts.

Whether you’re an experienced angler or a novice, Grand Cayman has something to offer. With Captain Andrew and Y-Knot Charters as your guides, you’re in for a fishing adventure of a lifetime. Book your trip today and discover the thrill of fishing in this tropical paradise.

About Y-Knot

Y-Knot Charters has added another great boat to the fleet!

Knotty - Y-Knot Charters
Knotty – 36′ Intrepid

Knotty

Knotty is a 36′ Intrepid repowered with new twin Suzuki 300s! This boat is fresh and clean, with plenty of room for 6 to fish and 8 guests.  Knotty is fast and easily handles the seas. It is great to fish at 12-Mile Bank, troll around the island, or “run and gun” to chase Mahi.  It is excellent for reef fishing as it can get into areas larger boats can’t.  A large swim ladder makes a stop at Stingray City Sandbar, or snorkel stops easy for all aboard.

Comfort features include a T-top for shade and an enclosed head. wrap-around bow seating and a premium sound system.

Knotty is a fishing machine with plenty of rod holders, power for electric reels, built-in fish boxes, and ample space for coolers. Knotty offers a walk-around center console design that is well suited for drifting for yellowfin tuna or casting into weeds for Mahi.

The easily accessible swim platform and large swim ladder make this a great boat for snorkeling, diving for Conch, or swimming with the stingrays at Stingray City Sandbar.

Best charter in Cayman!

This was my second charter with Captain Andrew and Pierre in Grand Cayman. I would 1000% recommend their services for a fun day activity on the island. Visits to Stingray city, starfish point, Kaibo and cruising with your local guides is an incredible way to spend the day. I cannot say enough about how fun, professional, and knowledgeable they have been. Book your charter with Y-knot Charters when in Cayman!!!! You will not be disappointed. They are also available for fishing trips, so whether relaxation and snorkeling to sting rays or fishing, they can help you with it all! They also have boats to fit different party sizes and groups. 5 stars all around! I’m sure I will be back and charter with them again. The BEST TIME!

Great Fishing Trip!

I had an amazing experience with Captain Andrew and Pierre. I did a 6-hour charter. The boat was very comfortable and smooth. Andrew and Pierre were friendly and very knowledgeable. The waters were pretty calm, so Captain Andrew thought that going to the 12-Mile Bank offered the best chance of landing tuna or mahi-mahi. As can happen with deep sea fishing, it was pretty slow at first. However, Andrew and Pierre tried different strategies and techniques. Finally, towards the we hooked our first yellow fin tuna. It was a beaut … about 55 lbs. Even though it was time to head back soon, Andrew had a hunch and decided to do another drift pass and what do you know, but we hooked a second yellow fin, just slightly smaller. Andrew and Pierre were genuinely excited about catching the tuna (I told them that it was a fishing bucket list for me). They expertly coached me to reel in so that we didn’t lose the fish. When we got back to shore, Pierre filleted the fish. I took back enough for 2-meals and it was delicious. I highly recommend Y-Knot Charters and will be sure to book them again next time I’m in the Caymans.
