Fishing Report for Jan 18, 2022

The weather Tuesday kept most boats at home. Captain Omar on Morning Spirt came back Tuesday from an overnight at 60-Mile Bank with 10 yellowfin tuna, 6 wahoo, 2 mahi, and tons of barracuda.  Nice Catch! The seas made the ride back punishing with waves 12′-14′. Those seas didn’t seem to bother this vessel passing by: Turning your reef fishing excursion into a fishing/snorkeling adventure is a fantastic idea. Let your captain know your interest in conch, and he can accommodate it during your 4-hour trip. For a more leisurely experience, consider adding an extra hour to your 4-hour half-day trip. With a cold front, low pressure, and rough seas,  most boats stayed put.   Congratulations to Captain Dominic from Coool Change Charters on this 103lb beauty! He landed this good size yellowfin tuna Sunday at 60 Mile Bank while aboard his 33′ Intrepid. He was drifting using  Shimano Talica 25II with 30lb test!
