Grand Cayman Fishing Report

Fishing Grand Cayman

Grand Cayman Fishing Report for the Week of March 5, 2023

The strong southeast winds have settled and turned to the west. This pattern looks to be in place most of this week. That is good news for Grand Cayman Fishing!

With the calming winds, the seas will settle too. If you visit Grand Cayman this week, this is a great chance to get on the water to fish or snorkel. You can simply book a fishing or snorkeling charter.  The island is busy and the charter slots are filling up. Book your charter now for the best boats and time slots.

Cayman Fishing Charters

Deep-SeaFishing

Our 5, 6 or 8-hour (full day) trips will be able to fish Grand Caymans’ famous Twelve-Mile Bank. That is where you can troll for wahoo, mahi, marlin, and blackfin tuna. The conditions should also be good for drifting and chunking for big yellowfin tuna. 4-Hour deep-sea charters will troll along the “wall” that surrounds the island.

Reef Fishing and North Sound Snorkel Charters

If deep-sea fishing isn’t right for you or your group, plan a 4, 5 0r 6-hour reef fishing or reef fishing/North Sound snorkel trip.  Reef fishing is a good choice for groups with less fishing experience or for groups with young children. Expect to catch snapper, jacks, grunts, barracuda, and permit.  A reef Fishing/ Snorkel trip will allow time to snorkel the many beautiful shallow reefs full of colorful fish. You can make stops at Stingray City Sand Bar or Starfish Point.  It is still open season for conch. Your Captain can take you to dive for conch (or he can do it for you). He will prepare a fresh Cayman Conch Salad right on the boat.
