Grand Cayman Fishing Report for Monday, February 27, 2023

His Vibes ARE Reel!

We have all experienced a “drought’ when Grand Cayman Fishing. No matter what we try, we can’t seem to get a fish over the rails. That was what Captain Stephen of Reel Vibes Charters was experiencing last week.

All that changed on Monday! Captain Stephen and two guests headed out to Cayman’s famous Twelve-Mile Bank. His short-lived drought immediately ended! Before he headed home Reel Vibes fish bag was packed with 6 (Yes 6!) wahoo! “Plus, we had two cut off while drifting through the wire leader.”

While back at Cayman Islands Yacht Club, to clean the fish for his guest, a few big tarpon surrounded Reel Vibes, a 34′ SeeVee. His guest wanted to keep the streak alive. Before long, his guest was hooked up on a big tarpon! Captain Stephen piloted the boat around Governors Harbour to keep the big fish close. Thirty minutes later, they had boated a huge 100lb+ tarpon.

I watched this from my patio at the end of Raleigh Quay and captured it on my drone. Check out the size of this monster!

As Stephen passed by my dock, I called out, “it looks like the drought is over” With a big smile, the proud Captain replied, “It looks like it.”
